When I joined Community Homeless Solutions in May 2022, I brought with me more than three decades of experience leading organizational transformation, growth, and operational excellence across the technology, education, healthcare, and consulting sectors. My professional journey has centered on helping organizations navigate change, strengthen performance, and build sustainable foundations for the future. As President and CEO of Advance Consulting, I led strategic transformation initiatives for corporate and government clients across the United States and internationally. Prior to that, I served as Vice President of Programs and Business Transformation for one of the nation’s leading educational assessment companies, where I oversaw large-scale operations, drove innovation, and helped position the organization for long-term growth.

As for my education, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from San Diego State University. I have also had the opportunity to share my organizational development and leadership approach through my book, The Energy Equation: Unlocking the Hidden Power of Energy in Business, which explores how organizational energy can be harnessed to improve collaboration, performance, and long-term success.

Since arriving at Community Homeless Solutions, I have been inspired by the dedication, compassion, and resilience of our staff. Together, we have focused on strengthening the organization from the inside out. We have worked to improve employee compensation and benefits because the individuals doing this important work deserve wages that allow them to live and thrive in our community. We have also prioritized building trust, strengthening relationships, and fostering a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and collaboration throughout the organization.

By strengthening our financial position, improving operational practices, and expanding our role as a community leader, we have laid the groundwork for a stronger and more sustainable future. We have challenged ourselves to move beyond being simply service providers to become true partners with cities, counties, funders, and community stakeholders. Our goal is not only to respond to homelessness, displacement, and domestic violence but to help shape the systems and partnerships necessary to create lasting solutions.

I am also engaged in a leadership role within Monterey County’s homeless services network. Through our involvement in the Coalition of Homeless Service Providers, where I serve as Board President, and our commitment to collaboration with fellow service providers, we are helping build a more coordinated, effective, and impactful response to homelessness across the region.

Looking ahead, I am excited about what comes next. We will continue pursuing operational excellence, strengthening our reputation as a trusted community partner, and increasing public awareness of the critical work we do every day. We will continue investing in our staff, expanding our impact, and building an organization that serves as a model for excellence, innovation, and compassion.

Most importantly, we will remain focused on our mission: “To house, empower, and rejuvenate those facing the rigors of homelessness, displacement, and domestic violence” in Monterey and San Benito Counties. Together, we are creating pathways to a stronger future for our clients, our organization, and our community.
