Program Overview
With support from generous local foundations and corporate donors, Community Homeless Solutions has been engaged by Monterey County and the City of Monterey to implement the Monterey Rehousing and Supportive Services (MRSS) Program. The program provides housing stabilization, housing navigation, and comprehensive case management to help current and former Monterey Peninsula residents secure permanent housing and recover from the impacts of displacement.
MRSS prioritizes assistance for tenants displaced by the 800 Casanova Avenue fire in early 2026, providing individualized support that helps households quickly regain safe, stable housing. Through personalized case management and coordinated supportive services, participants receive the resources and guidance needed to overcome barriers to housing and build a foundation for long-term stability.

The goal of MRSS is to ensure every participant has access to the housing, supportive services, and community resources necessary to recover from displacement, achieve lasting housing stability, and rebuild their lives.
Program Services
Drawing on its experience leading disaster recovery efforts, including operating the Pajaro Temporary Navigation Center following the Pajaro floods, Community Homeless Solutions brings the expertise and partnerships needed to help residents recover from housing crises and achieve long-term stability. Throughout the length of this program, Community Homeless Solutions will work in partnership with local nonprofits, public agencies, and community providers to coordinate services, leverage available resources, and connect participants to comprehensive housing, healthcare, behavioral health, employment, and other supportive services that promote long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency.
