New Beginnings Permanent Supportive Housing

New Beginnings is a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program located on the Monterey Peninsula that provides long-term housing and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness who have a qualifying disability. The community consists of 37 family housing units across two residential cul-de-sacs, including 31 two-bedroom units and 6 three-bedroom units. Prospective residents are most often participants in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) programs, or are actively working with a support organization to obtain rental support.

New Beginnings combines affordable, permanent housing with voluntary supportive services designed to help families achieve long-term stability and maintain successful tenancies. Residents are encouraged to participate in individualized case management, housing stabilization services, financial literacy and budgeting assistance, and referrals to healthcare, behavioral health, employment, education, and other community resources based on their needs.

Community Homeless Solutions provides ongoing property-based supportive services while partnering with local service providers to deliver a coordinated continuum of care. This collaborative approach ensures that families have access to the comprehensive resources and support needed to remain housed, strengthen self-sufficiency, and build a stable future.
